The North Macedonia citizenship-by-investment programme is currently paused and is not accepting new applications, and no reopening date has been confirmed. The article below is the original April 2026 report of the reactivation, kept as a record of what was announced at that time — the figures in it were the terms published then and are not current terms. Following recent negotiations, North Macedonia's citizenship-by-investment (CBI) program — which had been suspended in prior years — is officially being reactivated. This is significant news for investors seeking a fast-track European passport. ITC iLand has been confirmed as the only authorized agent for this program in the Americas, listed on the official Government of North Macedonia website.
Program Highlights (as announced in April 2026)
As announced at the time of the reactivation, the terms published were:
- Minimum investment from €200,000 — this was the investment-fund route, which carried no job-creation requirement; the separate €400,000 direct-investment route was the one requiring 10 jobs
- Citizenship processing described at the time as approximately 2–4 months — North Macedonia has never published an official processing time for this route, and the decision is discretionary
- Spouse and dependent children included in a single application
- No prior residency, physical presence, or language test required
- Visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Schengen Area and numerous other countries
