Language test
IELTS · CELPIP · PTE Core · TEF · TCF
A valid language test is required for Express Entry. If you completed education outside Canada, you may also need an ECA for eligibility or to claim education points. Both can take time, so start early if they apply to you. IRCC’s document list ↗

Express Entry is IRCC’s system for managing permanent-residence applications under the Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades programs. You first qualify for one of the programs, then enter a pool where candidates are ranked by their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, and are invited to apply when their score meets a draw’s cutoff. This plan follows that sequence step by step, from Discover to PR.
